A nugget, a real garage wine, is produced with this hectare of vines acquired by Jean-Luc Sylvain’s grandfather, Le Clos Les Grandes Versannes, under the appellation Saint-Émilion Grand Cru. It is in the excellence of its terroir that Le Clos Les Grandes Versannes draws its excellence. Located on a rump of deep gravel, the vines benefit from the ideal climatic, soil and subsoil conditions. The berries of the three grape varieties planted, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, can reach the perfect maturity and concentration. For this confidential cuvée, each step is carried out with the greatest care. Here, no frills in the cellar, all the attention is focused on the vines, winemaking and aging. It is a know-how passed down from generation to generation which is expressed in every gesture. Concentrated, powerful but harmonious, Clos Les Grandes Versannes is the result of a passionate and expert work.
